T-Shirt featuring iconic singer \ songwriter, Bob Dylan.

For more than five decades this American singer/songwriter has remained a major influence in popular music. His greatest period was in the 1960s, where he spearheaded protest music, if sometimes reluctantly. He did much to galvanize the anti-war movement & was also instrumental in raising the public awareness of the Civil Rights movements among black Americans.

Initially an acoustic folk-artist, Dylan’s later adoption of the electric guitar somewhat polarized his fans, some of whom believed he had ‘sold-out’.

Dylan is most noted for his complex lyrics, which incorporate a variety of social, political & philosophical influences. There are also references to film, TV & novels. This has made him a massive influence on subsequent artists & bands. Dylan himself cites the performance style of Little Richard & the songwriting techniques of folk artist Woody Guthrie as being major influences on his own songwriting.

Dylan still tours to the present day, & has collaborated with many musicians & film-makers since the 1960s, & was involved in projects with giants such as Johnny Cash & George Harrison.
