The t-shirt features soul singer Jackie Wilson. Jackie Wilson was among the early R&B artists who were influential in R&Bs’ transition to the ‘Soul’ genre made popular by the Tamla Motown & Stax record labels. Not for nothing was he dubbed ‘Mr. Excitement’, and he was regarded by his peers as one of the greatest & most influential showmen in R&B history. The sheer energy & dynamism of his performances & music ended dramatically in 1975 during a benefit show, when he collapsed on-stage with a heart-attack. He spent the last nine years of his life in a coma from which he never awoke. He is most notable for the eternally upbeat ‘Higher & Higher’ & that enduring paean to romance, ‘I Get The Sweetest Feeling’.
