With the growth of this sub-genre came the release of older soul recordings which found their way back into the UK charts, years after their initial success (or failure). A good example of this being The Tamms’ hit ‘Hey Girl Don’t Bother Me’ which went to number 1 in the UK charts upon its’ re-release in 1971. This was down to entrepreneurs such as the UK-based Dave Godin, who were among the first to see the potential in revisiting/re-releasing older, more authentic songs the mainstream had missed. He eventually set up his own Soul City Label in 1968. Later Svengalis such as Stock, Aitken & Waterman would exploit similar techniques to the same effect, contributing directly to the explosion of club-culture/dance-music in the late 1980s UK.

Our no hassle returns policy is valid for 28 days from receipt of an item
(40 days for international orders).
