Che Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, a trained physician, writer & guerrilla leader. He also worked as a diplomat & wrote military theories. He was a major figure in the Cuban Revolution. His stylized visage, such as the one on this shirt, has since become synonymous with the soul of rebellion & revolution – Marxist or otherwise – the whole world over.
Guevara had travelled extensively, particularly by motorcycle, in South America, where his abhorrence of the plight of the poor, had radicalized his take on Marxism. He was in effect a Trotskyite who had concluded that the problem of poverty was an international one; driven by the capitalism of Western imperialism. The Trotskyite believes in world-revolution to attain true socialism.
His Trotskyist intent to spread revolution globally was to cost him both his freedom & his life. He was captured in Bolivia by a CIA-backed local militia & summarily executed.
